Blessed Carlo Acutis is credited with two miracles recognized by the Catholic Church, essential for his beatification and ongoing canonization process:
Beatification Miracle
First Miracle – Healing of a Brazilian Boy
-
Who: A 6-year-old Brazilian boy named Mattheus from Campo Grande.
-
Condition: The boy suffered from a rare congenital disorder called annular pancreas, which made eating very difficult.
-
Miracle: In 2013, after his family prayed for Carlo’s intercession and venerated a relic of him, the boy was instantly and completely healed—verified by doctors as unexplainable.
-
Recognition: This healing was formally recognized as a miracle by Pope Francis in 2020, leading to Carlo’s beatification.
Miracle For Canonization
Second Miracle – Healing of a Girl in Costa Rica
-
Who: A young woman named Valeria from Costa Rica.
-
Condition: She suffered a traumatic brain injury from a bicycle accident in 2022 and was not expected to survive.
-
Miracle: Her mother prayed at Blessed Carlo’s tomb in Assisi, and shortly after, Valeria unexpectedly recovered—regaining consciousness and eventually returning to a normal life.
- Recognition: In May 2024, Pope Francis approved this miracle, paving the way for Carlo’s upcoming canonization, which will make him a saint.
Official Prayer for the Powerful Intercession of Future Saint Carlo Acutis
Oh God, our Father, thank you for giving us Carlo,
a model of life for young people
and a message of love for all.
You have made him fall in love
with your son Jesus, making the Eucharist
his “highway to heaven.”
You have given him Mary
as a very beloved Mother,
and you have made him,
with her Rosary,
become a singer of her tenderness.
She welcomes his intercession for us.
He looks above all at the poor,
whom he loved and helped.
[Grant me also, through his intercession, the grace I need…]
And make our joy full,
leading Carlo among the saints
of the universal Church,
so that his smile continues
to shine for us and for the glory of your name.
Amen.
Pray an Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be.
Imprimatur + Domenico Sorrentino Bishop of Assisi Nocera Umbra Gualdo Tadino Foligno
